The mission of Safe Passage is to offer a safe place for those seeking support amid struggles with homosexuality to thrive in relationship with God. The group encourages each participant to enter into the journey of disciples walking in love with Jesus Christ -- honoring His intent as revealed in Matthew 19 for the stewarding of sexuality whether in celibacy or marriage -- discovering His grace and intimacy, His transforming power, and the fullness of calling in His Kingdom.
Safe Passage is an open support group of men and women seeking Christ's presence and grace amid struggles with homosexuality. Meetings are held weekly in Montrose (near Pasadena, California) and consist of worship, prayer, a short teaching, and time for small group sharing.
Sonia first began to entrust her gender identity to the Lord in 1980, and experienced much personal restoration through local fellowship and prayer. In 1992, she began "Safe Passage" serving others struggling with homosexuality. She is active in worship at church and is employed as a physicist, and thereby captivated at many levels with the beauty and wonder of God's creation.
