It’s Day 34 of the challenge, and today we are talking about the essence of Christian accountability: friendship.
The Bible is not merely a book about lofty spiritual realities. All theology, if it is good theology, is practical, and even when the Bible presents heavier themes, it is always applicable to the daily grind of life.
The Bible has a lot to say about the nature of real friendship. If we want to experience the fruit of accountability, especially over the long term, those who hold us accountable need to become more like wise friends—brothers and sisters who are not only close to us, but love us enough to confront our sin.
